Eat a variety of foods. This way you will have the energy, protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre your body needs to stay healthy.

Balance what you eat with exercise to reduce or maintain a healthy weight. You will also reduce the chance of developing heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure and type 1 diabetes.

Eat foods that are low in salt and sodium to reduce the chance of high blood pressure.

Choose a diet low in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. This is the only healthy way to reach your ideal weight and stay healthy.

Do not skip any main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) to avoid overeating at the next meal. It is even advisable to eat up to 5 meals per day, but smaller ones.
